- Title
IS THE HEALTH-CARE CHAOS CURING ITSELF?
- Authors
CARDILLO, ROBIN COUCH
- Abstract
The article reports on a survey conducted by KPMG Peat Marwick LLP that found the rate of healthcare premium increases dropped by 40 percent to 4.8 in 1993 from 1992. KMPG also confirmed a shift in methods companies are using to combat costs. Point-of-service plans saw the highest rate of increase in enrollments. A significant increase in the number of health maintenance organizations (HMO) and preferred provider organizations (PPO) was also observed during 1991 to 1994.
