- Abstract
The article explores Islamic radicalization, delving deeply into a study by sociology professor Charles Kurzman of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The author states the importance of understanding who radicalizes and why they do, noting the 92 people in the U.S. that have been killed by Islamists since July 2015. Other topics discussed include other forms of radicalization including white supremacy, the Triangle Center on Terrorism and Home land Security and insights on the age, religious background and prior criminal history of Islamic terrorists.
