- Abstract
The anthology "Max Weber revisited: On the relevance of a classic" by Ulrich Bachmann and Thomas Schwinn deals with various aspects of the reception and relevance of Max Weber's work. Different viewpoints and evaluations are presented, with some contributions criticizing the contemporary significance of Weber's writings, while others consider his ideas as inspiring and effective. However, the author of the article is disappointed because the editors and authors of the anthology apparently are not familiar with the extensive and methodologically demanding research literature on religious studies. The author emphasizes that previous research has gathered numerous confirming findings for Weber's Protestantism thesis and that there is still a need for further research, especially in the core areas of the Reformed churches.
