- Abstract
The Committee to Advise on Tropical Medicine and Travel (CATMAT) is a federal government committee with wide representation in the fields of travel medicine and infectious diseases. They produce evidence-based statements on tropical and travel medicine for Canadian clinicians, including paediatric content ensured by the involvement of paediatric experts and a liaison member from the Canadian Paediatric Society. Links to all of the active statements are provided in the present practice point, with the aim of making Canadian health care providers more aware of this excellent resource. CAT-MAT statements of special interest to clinicians who deal with children address paediatric travellers, international adoption, personal protective measures to prevent arthropod bites, fever in the returning traveller, malaria, injury risk and travel, and guidelines for the practice of travel medicine.
