The article discusses the mental health of survivors of Hurricane Katrina since 2005 around New Orleans, Louisiana. Topics include the work o the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC), the relation of the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to mental health recovery, and the experience of children with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms.
