- Abstract
Although there are many youth leadership programs for students in tertiary institutions, one major limitation is that there are few related evaluation studies, particularly in different Chinese contexts. To promote responsible citizenship and whole person development in postsecondary students in Hong Kong, Wofoo Social Enterprises initiated Wofoo Leaders' Network (WLN) for students of tertiary institutions in Hong Kong. To examine changes in the students who led the WLN societies in each institution, Wofoo Social Enterprises collected pretest and posttest data from 305 Executive Committee members in different chapters of WLN in two cohorts. The participants also shared their feedback through the client satisfaction approach. Analyses based on pretest and posttest data revealed that students showed positive changes in their leadership attributes in different areas, including event organization, personal competence, whole person development, understanding of the core values of WLN, and civic awareness. The participants also had positive perceptions of WLN activities and felt that WLN programs were able to promote their leadership qualities.
