- Title
Full of Sound and Fury, Signifying Plenty.
- Abstract
A Heldenleben from November 1947 (Reiner's last recording with Pittsburgh) never gets bogged down, the hero's life flashing past our eyes with a gratifying sweep, even if the recording lacks the detail to which, with modern technology, we are now accustomed. CDs 79 Full of Sound and Fury, Signifying Plenty Richard Laing is exhilarated but exhausted by one of the 20th century's most feared conductors Fritz Reiner: The Complete Columbia Album Collection. Most of the recordings reissued in this set feature the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, which Reiner directed for a decade from 1938.
