- Abstract
Since the creation of the first public lands in the United States, they have been a source of turmoil, admiration, and prolonged political debate. It recounts the legal and historical precedent for the validity of public lands managed by the federal government, and Wilson is unequivocal in his stance that federal management of land in the United States is constitutionally defensible. In Part II, Wilson explores each of the major types of public land and their managing agencies, while providing case studies that demonstrate the challenges of modern land management.
