Lessons in adapting to change from Questar.
- Authors
Simon, Andrea J.
- Abstract
The ability to quickly adapt to change can mean the difference between success and ruin. In 40 years, Questar Assessment, Inc., an innovative startup founded by three entrepreneurs, grew to become the fifth-largest company in the K-12 summative assessment space, serving numerous state departments of education and school districts across the United States before being sold for $127.5 million in 2017. Faced with the need to change in order to keep up with regulatory, educational, social, and technological developments, Questar's leaders continually transformed the company, including its processes, talent pool, and culture, to enable it to thrive.
