- Abstract
The article focuses on the diagnosis and management of inflammatory breast cancer (IBC) in primary care. Prompt detection of disease symptoms is cites as one main challenges involved in IBC. It is recommended that patients diagnosed with IBC be managed in a multidisciplinary breast oncology clinic with specialties related to IBC treatment. It discusses the role of family physicians in IBC management which concerns detection, referral and psychological support.
