- Abstract
The article focuses on Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute's (CLSI) POCT07-A guideline which outlines a standardize error tracking system to manage risks and improve quality of point-of-care testing (POCT) in laboratories. It notes various challenges and benefits of POCT including documentation of tests performed, and risk of preexamination errors. Furthermore, retired professor of clinical chemistry Wadid Sadek cites the guideline's use in establishing effective quality control in POCT.
