- Abstract
This document is the guest editors' introduction to a special issue of the Journal of Wine Economics. The issue features four articles that were selected from the fourth workshop of the Alliance for Research on Wine and Hospitality (ARWHM). The articles cover a range of topics including cultural and social sustainability, online and expert reviews, wine and culinary hospitality, demand and prices for wine and restaurants, investments in the wine and restaurant markets, marketing strategies, supply chain management, organizational and governance issues, and the design and management of wine lists. The articles provide insights into the complexities of the wine industry and its intersections with producers, retailers, managers, and consumers. They also explore topics such as restaurant wine lists, consumer wine ratings, predicting fine wine prices, and gender bias in wine purchase decisions. The research papers offer valuable insights for both academia and industry professionals in the wine and hospitality sector.
