- Abstract
The article offers information on the role of criminal statutes in prohibiting the unauthorized disclosure of classified and non-classified government information to the media by government employees, officials, and soldiers in the U.S. It informs that disclosing information by following sources violate the provisions of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. It focuses on the prosecution of reporters, newspapers, and other sources for disclosing information under the Espionage Act.
