- Abstract
The features of the sound propagation at a frequency of 1.1 GHz in the isotropic phase of cholesteryl miristate are studied. The analysis of experimental data in terms of the theory of interacting modes shows that the peculiarities of the temperature behavior of sound velocity and absorption coefficient are determined by the interaction between the hypersonic wave and the fluctuations of the cholesteric helix pitch.
