- Abstract
In this article the author considers the results and implications of the 2007 parliamentary election held in the nation of Morocco. It is noted that the election signaled significant political change in the country, reducing the power held by the monarchy, a development supported and promoted by Morocco's reigning king, Mohamed VI. The author analyzes election results in light of a number of factors including the difficulty associated with democratic transition in developing nations and their impact on societal structure in Morocco.
