- Abstract
The article focuses on art exhibitions "Rings: Five Passions in World Art (Rings)" and "Souls Grown Deep: African American Vernacular Art of the South" held in Atlanta, Georgia during the Olympic Games in 1996. It states that the Rings featured famous works of art from Europe as well as the U.S. It says that the games represent the promise of economic and cultural revitalization for the cities and regions that host them. Reasons behind the failure of "Souls Grown Deep," are also mentioned.
