- Abstract
The article explores ways for assessment and treatment of elopement in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in schools. Topics discussed include elopement that occurs when an individual runs away from or leaves a supervised area; preventing elopement by securing exits with locks that the student cannot reach or cannot easily manipulate; and using functional-assessment procedures to assess elopement.
