- Abstract
Leiomyoma, a benign tumor originating from smooth muscle cells, is located more frequently in the uterus, but may appear infrequently in other organs including the skin. Cutaneous leiomyoma, which primarily affects adults between the fifth and sixth decades of life, can take three different sites: piloerector smooth muscle, vascular walls and nipples or genital region. We report the case of a patient in which dermoscopic study revealed a nodular tumor homogeneously hyperpigmented base with white halo and central ulceration, peripheral vascular structures (similar to hairpin-like vessels) were perceived inside the white halo. Therefore, it was determined that the patient suffered from an ulcerated angioleiomyoma.
