- Abstract
The article presents a study on economist John Stuart Mill's view on the law of markets in the U.S. According to the author, divergent view of economists belonging to the classical school have been overly simplified and presented as the classical theory to produce a neat classification. The conception of the classical doctrine still abounds in "stereotypes." The presentation includes the introduction, the interpretation of Walras' Law, Say's Identity and Say's Equality, Mill's concept of money, Mill's interpretation of Say's Law and the dual concept of money, Mill's theory of crises, Mill's view on general overproduction, and the conclusion.
