Title
Saskatoons and Family.
Abstract
The article presents a discussion about growing saskatoon in the U.S. and Canada. It notes that the growth cycle of Canadian selections of saskatoons does not fit in Oregon because they tend to get lots of rust. It states that the Canadian types differ from the local species found in western Oregon as they bloom early and stop by July while the local species such as Amelanchier alnifolia, Amelanchier florida and Amelanchier canadensis are adapted to the area and capable of resisting local diseases and growing longer.
