The article focuses on the interactive session of Max McMaster on handling illustrative materials at the 2010 American Society for Indexing Inc. (ASI) Annual Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 13-15. McMaster used a historical class portrait of debutantes in a local community and a painting by Currier of the Boston Tea Party during his dicussion. Moreover, it was agreed that the needs of the clients must be considered always when dealing with illustrative materials.
