- Abstract
Our results contrast with a recent study by Shabtaie et al., which reported data on 55 patients with cancer undergoing LAAO implantation and showed that LAAO is safe in patients with cancer. Cancer is independently associated with an increased risk of atrial fibrillation (AF), especially in patients older than 65 years of age and/or in those with pre-existing cardiovascular disease [[1]].
- Subjects
ATRIAL fibrillation; HEART block; LEFT heart atrium; CANCER prognosis; LOW-molecular-weight heparin
