- Title
Deaf Composer an Inspiration.
- Abstract
This article profiles Alfonso W. Nardi, a deaf composer and an architect. Since a childhood illness, Nardi has no ability to hear in his right ear and only 10 percent hearing in his left ear. Now, at the age of 52, he is an internationally successful architect who is becoming recognized for playing and composing orchestra music on his electric piano. Music became a passion for him at the age of three. His first recollection of playing music for others was for clients in his mother's beauty shop. Nardi composes mostly at night or during the early morning at his homes in Springfield, Massachusetts and Palm Beach, Florida. He loves to perform in candlelight. On Valentine's Day in a cozy theatre, he debuted his new compact disc Nouveau. This French word stands for style and flair and he feels it represents the type of music he plays.
