- Title
Colloid Chemistry of Supramolecular Systems in the Modern Landscape of Russian Science.
- Authors
Kalinina, M. A.; Vatsadze, S. Z.
- Abstract
The unification of these two areas of chemical science into a particular field, i.e., colloid chemistry of supramolecular systems, actually marked the passage from classical "covalent" chemistry, i.e., molecular synthetic chemistry, to the level of organizational complexity of matter, at which substances are synthesized in the living nature. Review "Supramolecular self-assembly of hybrid colloidal systems" [[10]] by A.G. Nugmanova and M.A. Kalinina is devoted to new colloid-chemical approaches to the preparation of supramolecular hybrid materials. In spite of the fact that the behaviors of the objects studied in both traditional colloid chemistry and supramolecular chemistry obey the general regularities that underlie the majority of surface phenomena, supramolecular colloids have a number of specific features owing to the set of interactions that provide their self-assembly.
