- Abstract
The article focuses on the psychological assessment of applicants for priesthood and religious life in the Catholic Church. According to the author, sexual abuse scandals by clergy have focused attention on how to evaluate applicants to the priesthood and religious life. The crisis has emphasized the need to ensure that men who have a sexual predilection should be barred from entering religious life and priesthood which highlights the need to evaluate those who attempt to enter the priesthood.
