The article informs During the 1920s in Peru, there was a surge of interest in the country's indigenous past, embraced by both the establishment and progressive artists and intellectuals. Elena Izcue, a painter trained at the National School of Fine Arts, produced numerous paintings of indigenous subjects and pursued a systematic study of pre-Columbian artifacts, creating an impressive collection of textiles that gained her international reputation.
