- Abstract
Based on the working condition of existing tunnel deformation induced by tunneling underlying, an analytical solution was proposed for predicting the deformation response of the overlying tunnel. The modified Peck formula was used to solve the free displacement of the surrounding soil caused by shield excavation. The free displacement of the soil was converted into an additional stress applied to the existing tunnel. The existing tunnel was simplified as Euler-Bernoulli beam lying on the Kerr foundation model. With the influence of the axial force of the existing tunnel, the deformation analytical solution of the existing tunnel was solved by considering the boundary conditions at the ends of the existing tunnel. The results show that the solutions given by the proposed method are close to the measured data. Compared with the calculation results of the Ken foundation model and the Pasternak foundation model, the prediction of the proposed method has more superiority. The displacement and the internal force of the existing tunnel decrease with the increase of the angle between the new tunnel and the old one. The axial internal force of the existing tunnel causes the calculated deformation peak value of the existing tunnel to decrease by 6. 1%. Both the deformation and the inner force of the existing tunnel increase linearly with the increase of the volume loss rate.
