- Abstract
The aim of this section is to guide the readers through the jungle of ornithological books by drawing their attention to significant current publications or some easy-to-overlook books. Book reviews can also inform the readers about significant moments which some reviewers are able to brilliantly pinpoint. To ease the communication between the editorial office, authors and book publishers, the editorial staff agreed to appoint a book review editor (see above) whom you can contact if you wish to write a review, offer or suggest a book for review. As before, the book reviews in this section express the opinion of the writer, do not undergo review process and are only subject of copyediting. In this year's "Book reviews", you can enjoy an insightful comparison between three European bird distribution atlases, but also a commentary to the welcome publication on ecology and conservation of the less-studied Red-footed Falcon and a critical thought where a publication model of an edited volume comprising a collection of papers may sometimes lead.
