The article provides an overview of Professor Derrick Bell's influential interest convergence and eminent domain thesis . Topics discussed include civil rights gains in the property realm when broader interests between majority and minority racial groups have not converged; U.S. Supreme Court case Berman v. Parker, Hawaii Housing Authority v. Midkif, and Kelo v. City of New London on interpretation of public use determinations; and property rights governing in the country.
