- Abstract
Safed musli (Chlorophytum borivilianum) is a traditional herbal plant of Ayurvedic significance. The use of natural goods is becoming increasingly popular. Traditional remedies and medicinal plants are frequently used as a normative basis for maintaining good health in most underdeveloped countries. However, the discovery of various medicines and chemotherapeutics from plant species as well as traditionally utilized herbal preparations has been linked to a growing reliance on the usage of medicinal plants. This paper aims to summarise the possible uses of Chlorophytum borivilianum as a crucial herbal medicine. It is one of the most rare and valuable medicinal herbs, with a long history of treatment for antiinflammatory, aphrodisiac, immunomodulatory, anti-stress, and sedative agents. The purpose of this study is to determine the qualitative compounds including Alkaloids, phenols, terpins, flavonoids, saponins and glycosidesin Safed Musli. The phytochemical screening of the methanolic extract materials was carried out using standard chemical tests to determine the phytochemical components in the plants. Alkaloids, phenols, flavonoids, saponins and glycosides were found in the results. The current study will aid in determining the quality of a crude medicine as well as establishing pharmacopoeial standards for Safed Musli (Chlorophytum borivilianum).
