- Abstract
The present investigation was undertaken to confirm enhancement of testis development in relation to the synthesis and mobilization of biochemical constituents from extratesticular sites during bilateral eye stalk ablation in male crabs. The present study will analyse the effect of bilateral eyestalk ablation on biochemical changes in Oziotelphusa senex senex. Bilaterally eye stalk ablated crabs were maintained for a period of 15 days along with non eyestalk ablated control crabs. Hepatopancreas and testicular total carbohydrates, glycogen, total protein and total lipid profiles after the completion of 15 days in control and experimental group of animals were analysed to study the metabolic changes.
