- Abstract
A single Indonesian specimen (41.0 mm standard length) of Apogon tricinctus (Allen & Erdmann, 2012) (Apogonidae), previously recorded only from Palawan, Philippines, was recently discovered in the Smithsonian Museum (USA) collection. The specimen, for which a full description is given, constitutes the first record of the species from Indonesian waters. In addition, an underwater photograph of a live individual of A. tricinctus (taken at Mactan Island, Visayas Islands, Philippines) is included.
