- Abstract
In recent years uranium exploration, a series of uranium deposits and occurrences in the Lower Cretaceous Kezilesu Group have been found in the Wuqia area, southwestern Tarim Basin. Based on the study of the source-sink process of the target layer Kizilsu Group in the area, it was found that the uranium mineralization in the area received the continuous supply of the ' source ' from the southern Tianshan in the north, which suggest that in the process of tectonic uplift and denudation of the mountain, the provenance area provided a rich sediment and uranium source for the sedimentary filling of the basin. At the same time, the continuous confluence-deposition in the piedmont zone forms a sedimentary facies belt with multiple flowershaped sand bodies distributed alternately along the piedmont zone. With the change of paleoclimate and the epigenetic alteration of sand bodies during the confluence of inherited paleo-water systems, the uraniumbearing fluids in sand bodies have been continuously accumulated and superimposed. Therefore, the understand of source-convergence process in Wuqia area is helpful to further clarify its uranium mineralization and ore-controlling factors, which will provide important reference in the theoretical study of uranium enrichment pattern and the practice of uranium prospecting in the area
