- Title
University Education Dilemma: The Challenge of Balancing Teaching with Scholarship.
- Authors
Yates, J. K.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the challenges being faced by engineering teachers on balancing their teaching loads and scholarship. It says that universities do not reduce teaching loads of the professors and still require them to teach three or four courses per semester despite their requirements for professors to secure externally funded research. It adds that professors are not assigned with teaching assistants to ease their handling of high volumes of homework and examinations.
