- Title
Vitamin D Status and Cancer Incidence and Mortality: Something New Under the Sun.
- Authors
Schwartz, Gary G.; Blot, William J.
- Abstract
The article provides information on the estimates of vitamin D status derived from the Health Professionals Follow-up Study. They were associated with reductions in total cancer incidence and mortality rate. A synthesis on understanding how vitamin D influences cancer risk is provided. There are factors that contribute to the plasma levels including skin pigmentation, geographic latitude, and outdoor exposure.
