- Abstract
The article presents an interpretation of Exodus 6:1-13, which tells God's promise to bring the Israelites out of slavery with an instruction to Moses on how to set the people toward freedom. Topics discussed are God's authority, Moses' sense of hopelessness as a leader, God's faithfulness to the patriarchs and his covenant, Moses' fear around speaking to the Pharaoh and Israelites, Christian-Muslim relations and Islamophobia, and the faith that inspired Moses to speak against subjugation.
