- Title
Behavior Control: From the Brain to the Mind.
- Authors
GAYLIN, WILLARD
- Abstract
An essay on behavior control as a major research component of The Hastings Center is presented. It discusses the experiment of neurophsysiologist Jose Delgado and his team which attempted to match anatomical areas of the brain to specific behaviors particularly anxiety. Stimulants such as ritalin and amphetamines are used in children afflicted with the medical condition called minimal brain dysfunction (MDB). The author concludes that behavior deemed as antisocial or illegal was redefined as sickness which changes the attitude of people to one another.
