- Abstract
The use of ironies is certainly one of the possibilities of meaning production with which the disputes of significance in the processes of interlocution ensue. Our work focuses on this universe: two journalists from the newspaper Folha de São Paulo (Guilherme Boulos and Reinaldo Azevedo). On November 27, 2014, Boulos published the article "Suggestions for the Government of Dilma." He proposes to the newly elected President Dilma Rousseff a ministry with names such as Reinaldo Azevedo. In response to Boulos, Azevedo publishes two texts. The first, in Folha de São Paulo, "The red painted chicken"; the second, in Veja magazine, "No! Boulos, the subservient poodle, is not my symmetrical opposite. I do not commit crimes! Or: Reinaldo at the Ministry of Culture". It is, therefore, an analysis of discourse in which we seek to understand the mechanisms of dispute of meanings with which these columnists, as political agents, oppose each other, especially by the agency of ideologies that constitute the discursive fabric.
