- Abstract
A White female homemaker aged 33 years developed acute vesicular dermatitis of hands, wrists, forearms and face after pruning garden ivy during the summer. Several recurrences occurred during the following winter from handling a house-plant. Brassaia actinophylla colloquially named "Queensland Umbrella Tree" or Schefflera. Contact dermatitis from English and Algerian ivies is documented. The patient became sensitized by exposure to Hedera sp. during her summer gardening and subsequently reacted to her house-plant during the winter.
