- Abstract
This article discusses a case of infantile bullous pemphigoid (IBP), a rare autoimmune bullous disease that typically affects individuals over 60 years old. The case involves a 6-month-old male who presented with erythema and blisters on the skin. The diagnosis was confirmed through histopathologic examination and direct immunofluorescence. The patient was treated with methyprednisolone and topical mupirocin ointment, and showed no recurrence or scarring after 12 years of follow-up. The article also explores the etiology, treatment options, and prognosis of IBP, as well as genetic and cultural factors that may contribute to its development.
