- Abstract
The article discusses a study on Brown Skuas Stercorarius (S.) antarcticus that were found incubating Macaroni Penguin Eudyptes (E.) chrysolophus at Marion Island. The general appearance of the white egg was not the same as the egg of a giant petrel but similar to that of a penguin's. The penguin egg in the skua nest lasted for approximately 47 days, which was longer than the incubation period of Brown Skua. The presence of foreign eggs in bird nests is unexplainable but researchers associated it with nest-parasitism.
