- Abstract
The article focuses on the identification and treatment of meniscal tears. Topics discussed include magnetic resonance imaging being used to identify meniscal tears, shock absorbing, stabilizing and load bearing functions of the knee menisci, arthroscopic assessment being used to diagnose meniscal tears, meniscectomies being used to treat meniscal tears, a need for keeping fibrocartilaginous tissue intact while using surgical treatment techniques and physical therapy being used for treatment.
