- Abstract
The article discusses the remote sensing technologies that are used by the U.S. Geological Survey scientists at the Cascade Volcano Observatory in Vancouver, Washington. The scientists are monitoring the ever-changing landscape of the Cascade Range. They use high-technology remote sensing equipment after the eruption of Mount Saint Helens in 1980 to avert catastrophic damages, like the global positioning system, light detection and ranging, aerial photography, and radio detection and ranging.
