- Abstract
The article reports that U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) is keeping China on its watch lists for the intellectual property (IP) protection and enforcement issues following concerns over its impact on foreign companies. Topics discussed include the several obstacles related to the implementation of China's international IP standards including the decreased trademark application fees, the definition of trade secret as punishable by law under the revised Anti-Unfair Competition Law, and the issues on the protection of the patents among foreign investors.
