- Abstract
The present article is aimed to evaluate, in a comparative manner, the current state of professional competencies and experiences of sports and recreational aquatic facility managers from Romania and the United States of America. In order to be able to make the comparison we have investigated 24 managers and used the analysis of variance (ANOVA) test. The research result confirms that managers in the US have a professional qualification not only from the point of view of diplomas obtained, but also from the point of view of work experience in the specific field, which is better than in Romania. The final purpose of this article is to elaborate recommendations and new ideas for managers in Romania that will lead to the improvement of aquatic facilities' performance. We hope that the results of this research, in a field not too much addressed in Romania, will contribute to the completion of scientific literature and provide support to managers who lead aquatic and recreation facilities.
