- Abstract
The article focuses in the description of the deep and rapid changes currently taking place in the relations between business and society. These changes lead to a new, closer and more accountable, perspective of the business management towards citizens (Corporate Responsibility) and organised civil society (Corporate Social Responsibility). In the framework of growing economic and financial globalization everything heads towards that new perspective: the information, the social awareness, the evolution of the technology and the Internet, the proximity to the consumer, the business reputation, etc. The key question is about the performance of the Social Responsibility concept from its birth at the beginning of the century to nowadays: its past strengths and weaknesses, and above all, its future in the new circumstances of productive globalization, digital and robotics revolution in the field of economy, uncertainty of employment and social cohesion, etc.
