- Abstract
This article discusses a study conducted in Bangladesh on patients with post-kala-azar dermal leishmaniasis (PKDL) who were treated with high-dose liposomal amphotericin B (L-AMB). The study found that some patients experienced severe muscle pain and weakness, along with low potassium levels, after receiving L-AMB treatment. The researchers recommend further research to understand this adverse effect and emphasize the importance of strict safety monitoring when introducing a new drug in a different population.
