- Abstract
A continuous concerning problem for both the economy and health is the environmental contamination caused by stored, refined gas and oil equipments. The key solution to this problem consists of a good knowledge about the reasons of the equipments breakdown, causing corrosion and the not appropriate ejection of hydrocarbon liquid, toxic H2S gas and other contaminant substances outside. In 25 up to 30% of the cases, the cause of corrosion was the equipment breakdown in gas and oil industry (Bruno, 2005). The study of the corrosion process was undertaken in the zones of gas and during oil transportation through the pipe under stagnant conditions (where the possibility of failure is higher), using modeling of pipe during three different phases (brine solution, oil and gas in up part), under dynamic variation of temperatures (“T), presence of condensate, concentration of H2S in gas phase, etc. ECN (Electrochemical Noises) measurement and metallographic research of cross section of the tube are used during the investigation of the corrosion mechanism.
