- Abstract
The article discusses the incidence of pulmonary oedema in pre-eclamptic women after intravenous fluid administration. Topics explored include pulmonary capillary wedge pressure changes which may be attributed to fluid therapy, the proper monitoring of intravenous fluid administration in these women, and other factors which may contribute to pulmonary oedema such as diastolic dysfunction, severe hypertension and reduced oncotic pressure.
