- Authors
Gamborena, Iñaki; Blatz, Markus B.
- Abstract
The article discusses the matching of dental implant’s fluorescence with the fluorescence of the natural teeth as one of the main aspect of esthetic restorative dentistry. It presents information on the first findings on the natural teeth’s fluorescence and dentin as the major content to provide them fluorescence. The article further states that modern composite resins contain fluorescent pigments, porcelains for veneering and ceramics copying materials such as alumina are used for mimicking the optical quality of the natural teeth. It also states that zirconia is considered as one of the best implant abutments due to its colour availability and ability of preventing the grayish appearance of the surrounding soft tissues.
